Caris Healthcare, Bluffton SC Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day

A story from our Hospice Partner

Caris Healthcare, Charleston, Charleston, SC

Submitted by Sandy Milliken

State Senator Tom Davis honoring a Veteran

Caris Healthcare, Bluffton SC office organized a Welcome Home Ceremony on March 27th for Vietnam War Veterans Day. We partnered with several local Veteran and civilian organizations, the town of Bluffton, and US Marine Corps. The event was attended by nearly 200 people.

The Parris Island Marine Band provided military music while the Parris Island Color Guard
provided colors for the ceremony.

Located at the front of the ceremony was the Missing Man Table , in honor of fallen, missing, or imprisoned military service members. Each item on the Missing Man Table represents the emotions and feelings reserved for those who did not come home.

We honored local service members who were killed-in-action during the Vietnam War and the Parris Island Marine Band Bugler played Taps .

SC State Senator Tom Davis welcomed home more than seventy Vietnam Veterans by pinning their lapels with a special Vietnam Veterans pin provided by the USA Vietnam War Commemorative Partnership. In appreciation for their service to our country. He also presented pins to thirty spouses for supporting their spouse’s service during the Vietnam War.
