Join the MJHS Institute for Innovation and the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services for a 1-credit CME webinar focused on aging Veterans and end-of-life care. Topics include VA policy updates, survivor benefits, suicide ideation, and new research linking TBI/PTSD to dementia. Learn how clinicians can better support Veterans through these evolving challenges.
Objectives:
– Describe the lasting effects of military trauma and how to recognize PTSD symptoms that can surface for the first time when a patient suffers from dementia.
– Explain policy changes within the VA that have helped LGBTQ+ Veterans who were wrongfully discharged from the military access health care benefits.
– Discuss increased services available at the VA to support women, the fastest growing cohort of Veterans.
