MJHS invites you to our next and final virtual Vet-to-Vet Café, taking place on Wednesday, August 25th from 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM. MJHS is honored to welcome veteran benefits expert Benjamin Pomerance, Deputy Counsel for the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services (NYSDVS). This program will demonstrate that it is never too late to support Veterans and their families. MJHS has coordinated over 80 referrals thus far in 2024 for Veterans on our palliative care and hospice program. Most of these referrals are for benefits ranging from burial and military honors to VA claims connecting families to survivors benefits. Thanks to our partners at NYSDVS, we have learned that when filing for VA claims, there are strict requirements that obscure eligibility. Hear from the experts on how to navigate claims around these obstacles, especially when seeking service-connected disability and survivors benefits. And more importantly, learn how you can become a certified Veterans Service Officer.
