Genesis Heritage Center Participates in Annual Military Veterans Appreciation Picnic

A story from our Community Partner

Heritage Center Genesis, Huntington, WV

On June 3rd, 2023, Community Partner Genesis Heritage Center located in West Virginia, participated in the twelfth annual Military Veterans Appreciation Picnic hosted by Vietnam Veterans of America and Tri-State Chapter 949. This family-fun-filled event welcomed all military Veterans and their families to Harris Riverfront Park in Huntington, West Virginia, to partake in games and free food. With over 1,400 in attendance, the picnic created a prideful atmosphere complete with numerous interactive booths for the event’s guests.

While manning their educational booth, Marybeth Morrison and Mandi McQuaid, were able to hand out over 600 refreshments, provide sunscreen to event guests, and spread awareness about their healthcare services and their partnership with the We Honor Veterans Program. Heritage Center provides quality services ranging from rehabilitation therapy to long-term care to memory care. As a proud Level Four partner of the We Honor Veterans program, they were able to network and connect with other organizations with similar missions to aid the Veteran community. This event fostered genuine connections and collaborations that have resulted in Heritage Center partnering up with several other organizations to enrich and benefit the lives of their residents.

We continue to anticipate the new and innovative ways that our Community Partners serve our Veteran community around the United States and are continuously reinvigorated by their ongoing dedication to our core mission of aiding the Veteran community.
