Seasons Hospice of Pasco, Florida delivered Welcome Home Baskets to a local VA Nursing Home.

Submitted by Julie Sanchez, Seasons Hospice Pasco, FL

For Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans day, we gathered 100’s of gifts from our community and dropped them off at a VA Nursing Home honoring 80 Veterans! We had 180 hand-sewn bears and a “Thank you for your Service Video” from GFWC Women’s Group of Wesley Chapel. 80 Letters “thanking them for their service” and a Video from the JROTC of Zephyrhills Highschool. Snacks donated by Mortellarow Law. Wood Crafts were made that said ‘Thank you for your service”, from women in the community. They were all put in baskets/topped with bows to deliver to the Veterans. We made sure we had Red, White, and Blue Balloons as well! One veteran was allowed to come out to represent the Veterans. He showed tears of joy! Our drop-off event was showcased in the local news and papers! Most importantly, it made them feel special and cared for by their community.
