Summit Hospice Partner Event: Granting A WWII Veterans Wish To Fly

The ongoing effects of the pandemic still linger throughout hospices in the country; however, the spirit that I’ve seen at Summit Healthcare Services in Arizona reflects that communities are still coming together to honor those who served.

I had the pleasure and honor of attending a partner event with Summit Healthcare Services to honor Robert (Bob) McCracken with his 100th birthday wish to fly in an open bi-cockpit plane. This birthday wish was made possible with help from the DreamCatchers Foundation and a local pilot Larry Dustman.

Ena Barrise, manager of volunteer services, with Summit Hospice, Level 5 Partner, made his dream come true by giving him a chance to fly the plane. Assisting Veterans at the end of life shines through Ena’s dedication to making his dream and any other Veteran’s dream come true.

In honor of Bob and this event, please enjoy this video.
