Level Four Spotlights

Our Tidewell Angel Program is an opportunity for our Hospice patients and caregivers to say “thank you.” The Angel Program is quite an honor- everyone does not receive this award. A philanthropic gift through the Tidewell Angel Program expresses their appreciation and extends the mission of compassionate care for all our patients and families.  Jim Mangie, is six and a half year Army Veteran who served in the Korean war. He has volunteered at for the past 4 years with over 700 hours of service. He received the Presidential Bronze Service Award three out of four years. Genesis HealthCare Berkshire Center, Reading, PA: Level Four Partner

The Genesis HealthCare Berkshire Center reached out to their local Cub Scout troop in hopes of creating a new tradition of introducing our young boys to Veteran’s that are often forgotten, and attempting to create a bond. To learn more on how this was accomplished, please click here. 

The Elizabeth Hospice, Escondido, CA ; Level Four Partner

The Elizabeth Hospice officiated a veteran pinning ceremony at a senior living facility that was featured on 10News San Diego; 36 Veterans were honored at this ceremony. The hospice is holding ceremonies at 12 assisted living centers between now and Dec. 7. Learn more. 

Mesilla Valley Hospice, Las Cruces, NM; Level Four Partner

Mesilla Valley Hospice held a ceremonial planting of Johnny’s Cactus. Johnny’s Cactus is the legacy of John Milton Risner, a Vietnam soldier who had died in the war. A short animated docudrama is being made of Johnny’s Cactus by a New Mexico film maker, Mary Darling.  To learn more about Johnny’s Cactus and the ceremony to celebrate John Milton Risner’s life, please click here.
