CNH Initiative: Identifying and Addressing Sources of Suffering

This PowerPoint resource, Identifying and Addressing Sources of Suffering, is offered as part of We Honor Veteran’s Community Nursing Home Initiative (CNH Initiative). It provides information on how to identify common symptoms and sources of suffering, the role of the Nursing Assistant/Caregiver and interventions to palliate symptoms, and supporting those who may be suffering even if you can’t fix it.

Upon completion of this module, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify common symptoms that can cause suffering among hospice patients.
  • Describe interventions within Nursing Assistant/Caregiver role to palliate symptoms
  • Appreciate the fulfillment from relieving suffering (when possible) & supporting those who are suffering even if you can’t fix it.
